Pasteur Pharmacy was founded at 10 Park Avenue, New York City, by Dr. Isidore Farber and Dr. Joseph Iliev, both pharmaceutical experts. Their vision was to provide superior prescription services and personalized customer service.

Over time, Pasteur Pharmacy became known for its hard-to-find medicines, ethical business practices, and high-quality formulations.

In 1987, management passed to Leon Tarasenko and Steven Schimmel, two experienced pharmacists. Their goal was to expand and modernize while maintaining the store's heritage.

By 1992, Pasteur Pharmacy had expanded to 806 Lexington Avenue, acquiring the historic Radoff Pharmacy (established in 1948).

By 2015, Pasteur Pharmacy had become widely recognized as a premier destination for wet shaving and men's grooming.
